WINTER 2016 Looking for summer 2016 options? The HNBA Legal Education Fund is the only non-profit organization affiliated with the Hispanic National Bar Association, and supports the Hispanic National Bar Association’s educational and charitable missions, including identifying and providing financial assistance to worthy programs that address education and the law within the U.S. Hispanic community and legal profession. Programming by the HNBA Legal Education Fund includes law student scholarship funding, such as the Special Counsel Hispanic Scholarship Fund and scholarships presented through its joint venture with the HNBA for the annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition. Additional HNBA-HNBA Fund joint programs include La Promesa en el Derecho™ (The Promise in the Law), a community outreach and education initiative designed to instill confidence and trust in the U.S. legal system called; and HNBA Journal of Law and Policy, a bi-annual publication. The HNBA Fund also administers the Legal Education Action Program (LEAP), a week long summer law camp for diverse high school students.

High School Students

LEAP has been organized for YOU! The Fund is eager to support the academic efforts of Hispanic high school students across the country who are interested in the pursuit of justice. If you have talked about pursuing a degree in the fields of political science, education, business, law, medicine, media and public service, WE WANT YOU! If you are a high school student ages 14 - 17 please apply for LEAP an educational opportunity in June. LEAP participants will have a full scholarship for travel to/from LEAP, room, board and educational materials. Apply now!
