Open to students entering Grades 7, 8, and 9
Monday, August 1 to Friday, August 5, 2016
Camp begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 1:00 PM every day
Campers will experience all the steps needed to bring fresh, nutritious, and delicious food from the farm to the table. Campers will explore different components of gardening including succession planting, garden care, plant identification, companion planting, composting and many more. Campers will tend to the garden and harvest their bounty. Using their bounty, campers will prepare snacks and bring home recipes.

Registration Fee: $20 check or money order made out to "NYC DOE in Trust for ESC" due upon acceptance by Monday, May 23, 2016.  The registration fee is non-refundable.

How to Apply (please note that there are two parts to the application process):
Part 1: Click the Apply Now button below to complete Part 1 of the application online.
Part 2: Download and print the paper consent form application packet from the last page of this online application to complete Part 2 of the application.

a. First, complete the Parent/Guardian Consent and NYCDOE Media Release forms in the packet.

b. Next, ask your child’s teacher to sign the Teacher Letter of Support also included in the packet.

c. Finally, submit the entire paper consent form application packet by 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2016 by email to ESC@schools.nyc.gov or mail to:

* Applications that do not include both Part 1 and Part 2 will not be considered.

The online camper application is due by 5:00 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016.  The entire paper consent form application packet is due by 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2016.  Acceptance into camps is based on a lottery.  Notification of acceptance will be sent during the week of May 16, 2016 via email from ESC@schools.nyc.gov.  Please check your spam/junk mail folders.  If your camper is accepted, you will be required to pay a non-refundable $20 registration fee to cover the entire cost of camp, due by Tuesday, May 31, 2016.  Campers who do not submit their registration fee will forfeit their seat.
