Open to students entering Grades 10, 11, and 12
Monday, July 11 to Friday, August 5, 2016
Internship begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:30 PM every day; multiple sessions available
Are you a high school student experienced with LEGO Mindstorm? Do you want to help teach younger students how to use it? The NYC Center for Space Science Education (NYCCSSE) is looking for responsible, motivated, and energetic high school students to participate in an exciting internship opportunity. Our weekly camps will have an aerospace and robotics theme. Selected interns will be working with elementary and middle school students using LEGO EV3 Mindstorm robotic kits. At the conclusion of the internship, students will receive a certificate verifying the number of hours worked and the contributions made to the Center. Interns will receive a MetroCard for their travel to and from the Center.

Weeks 1 & 2

  • Monday - Friday, 8:30-3:30 July 25, 2016 - August 5, 2016

How to Apply (please note that there are two parts to the application process):
​Part 1: Click the Apply Here button below to complete Part 1 of the application online.
Part 2: Download and print the paper consent form application packet from the last page of this online application to complete Part 2 of the application.
a. First, complete the Parent/Guardian Consent and NYCDOE Media Release forms in the packet.
b. Next, ask your child's teacher to sign the Teacher Letter of Support also included in the packet.
c. Finally, submit the entire paper consent form application packet by 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2016 by email to SpaceCenter@schools.nyc.gov or mail to:

*Applications that do not include both Part 1 and Part 2 will not be considered. 
The online camper application is due by 5:00 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2016.  The entire paper consent form application packet is due by 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2016. Notification of acceptance will be sent during the week of May 16, 2016 via email from SpaceCenter@schools.nyc.gov. Please check your spam/junk mail folders.
