Run For The Future
Run For The Future provides a fun, free way for New York City high school girls to get fit, develop leadership skills, and earn money for college! Working together, the young women selected for the 2014 season will meet weekly and train in order to run a 5K (3.1 mile) race at the end of the summer. Along the way, they'll have access to special seminars on health, nutrition, and fitness AND work together on local projects to improve health in the community, providing an experience that prepares the body and mind for a bright future. By summer’s end, students will have made new friends, given back to the community, completed their first 5K race, and earned a $1000* scholarship toward college.
We highly encourage those with little or no running experience to apply. All girls entering their senior year at a New York City public or parochial high school are eligible.
* Based on fulfillment of program requirements
