Dance students ages 14-18 may apply now for a unique summer workshop in partnership with DanceMotion USA, a cross-cultural exchange program that connects America's finest dance companies with international artists and communities.
Participants will go inside the creative process of two internationally-renowned dance companies. The 4-day August program includes dance and choreography workshops with professional artists, previewing a working rehearsal of both companies collaborating on a world premiere for BAM, and attending the live performance of their final work at the BAM Fisher. Teenagers will have the rare opportunity to directly interact and dance with companies from the US and Turkey through this intimate cultural immersion.
Enrollment is limited to 15 students. Students should have at least 2 years dance training and previous choreographic experience. All students must submit an application and complete an interview in order to be considered for the program. There will be no audition. Participants must commit to the full four days of the workshop.
