Apply for Scholarship: Attached is an application for the Grace Outreach (www.graceoutreachbronx.org<http://www.graceoutreachbronx.org/>) College Prep program for summer, 2014 (mid June to the end of July). Our program is called the Darlene Jeris Scholarship - Darlene is the founding Executive Director of Grace Outreach. We seek to put together a group of 20 female students ages 18-24 who have either a hs diploma or a GED/equivalency diploma, who want to attend CUNY in fall 2014. Some stipend support is available via this scholarship. The content of Grace Outreach's College Prep program is to give the students intensive instruction to prepare for the COMPASS/remedial exams. Students who begin their college work with zero or only one remedial class have a MUCH better chance statistically of graduating within 3 years for an associate's degree. Grace Outreach operates this special summer program as a member of the Bronx Opportunity Network (BON) consortium. A potential student would need to complete the attached application. It is due June 2 although we urge potential students to get it in earlier due to high demand for these seats. Please disseminate information to anyone you think might be a qualified candidate.
