A 14-week social justice fellowship for LGBTQ young adults here at Hetrick-Martin Institute and we're looking for enthusiastic and committed young people. This is a well paid opportunity, so please share far and wide folks. Below is a program overview.
The HMI Youth Advocacy Fellowship is a 14-week intensive designed to heighten the awareness of young adult leaders in LGBTQIA+ community on issues impacting their well-being. HYA Fellows will sharpen their personal narrative and storytelling skills, as well as their abilities to analyze, synthesize, and present empirical data to stakeholders, community members, and other advocates in the field.HYA Fellows will also have a chance to meet with and learn from seasoned advocates and mobilizers in the community, travel to local and national conferences to fellowship with other young adult change makers, and review the literary and film works of historical and contemporary advocates. At the close of the fellowship, HYA Fellows will have an opportunity to present their own policy and advocacy recommendations to HMI leadership.
The ultimate goal of the HMI Youth Advocacy Fellowship is to assist interested fellows gain employment in the advocacy field within a year of completing the program.New York Collective of Radical Educators: Educators of Color
