SAT Prep Sponsored by the NEUBERGER BERMAN FOUNDATION , the Y offers free SAT verbal and math classes to help area high school students prepare for the college entrance exams. Your teen will gain the necessary skills for success in the math and verbal sections while hearing encouraging messages from the tutors like, “You can do this!” Your teen must have access to a computer for required homework assignments and bring a calculator and pencil to all classes. The program also explains the college application process including the college application essay. Teens will work on their final draft of an essay developing techniques, voice and point of view, which make their essay unique and sets themselves apart from other applicants. A $50 attendance deposit is required for all participants to ensure commitment to the program. If your child misses more than one session over the period of the program , the deposit will not be returned. This is to ensure participation in the program for all childrend to receive full benefits of the SAT Prep class for the May 2013 test. Deposits will be returned upon receipt of May 2013 SAT results.
