Fall Stewardship Day at Inwood Hill Park
Saturday, October 24, 2015
9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Eight
years ago, the city launched MillionTreesNYC with an ambitious goal: to
plant and care for one million new trees across the city. The benefits
to be gained were clear: improved air and water quality; reduced
pollution from storm water runoff, flooding and erosion; and reduced
energy costs, to name a few. But MillionTreesNYC is just the first step
in enhancing and preserving New York City's urban forest. Tree care and
stewardship are the next critical steps to ensuring the survival of our
urban forest. Since 2007, we have come a long way towards reaching our
goal of planting one million trees. We ask you now to continue the work
that we've done together and to join us in meeting the next challenge to
ensure a sustainable city.
Location
Payson Center in Inwood Hill Park
Payson Avenue and Dyckman Street
Manhattan
