I'm writing to let you know about two funding opportunities for WHEELS students who are interested and/or need help funding an extracurricular programs or internships.
Please note, funds are available based on how many students apply and students must already have been accepted to a program or internship prior to applying.
The deadline is for applying is May 1, 2015.
Extracurricular Program Scholarships: Friends of WHEELS offers partial scholarships for weekend, school break and summer programs for WHEELS high school students, which includes rising 9th graders. Programs must be affiliated with an accredited organization, college or university and approved by WHEELS. Scholarships available will depend on the number of applications received and cost of programs. Please note that full funding can not be provided. Students can apply here.
Internship Stipends: Friends of WHEELS offers stipends for students completing unpaid internships only. Stipends are provided to cover expenses such as daily transportation and meals during the course of the internship. Internships must be approved by WHEELS and are available to WHEELS high school students and alumni. Students and alumni can apply here.
