Spring 2019 Be part of Youth Communication’s summer writing workshop, where youth get one-on-one mentoring from a professional editor, write personal stories about their lives, go on field trips, and make friends with other writers.

Be part of Youth Communication’s summer writing workshop,

where youth get one-on-one mentoring from a professional editor,

write personal stories about their lives, go on field trips,

and make friends with other writers.




The workshop includes writing lessons and group activities

exploring experiences with injustice and how to address it.

Participants’ stories will be published in one of Youth Communication’s two award-winning magazines: YCteen, by and for New York City high school students, or Represent, by and for young people in foster care.
DETAILS
Cost: Free to apply, and participants get a $600 stipends, plus help with transportation and lunch
Who: Writers ages 15 – 20 who can commute to the Midtown office
When: Monday – Thursday, 11am – 4pm from July 8 to August 15
