Spring 2018 CUNY College Now Myself Third Spirit Scholarship $10,000

 CUNY College Now Myself Third Spirit Scholarship:

·       Myself Third Scholarship including Essay Rubric and forms for Teacher/Guidance Counselor and Volunteer Letter of Support

·       Myself Third Scholarship Description which can be distributed to High School Administration

·       Myself Third Committee Guidelines including Evaluation Form and Essay Rubric

The competition is open to New York City public high school seniors who have completed at least one college credit course in the College Now program. Only one scholarship of $10,000 will be awarded to a City University of New York (CUNY) bound student enrolling in either an associates or baccalaureate degree program on a full-time basis in fall 2018.

The application will be made available on the CUNY College Now Facebook and Twitter pages @cunycollegenow.

In judging the applications, the quality of the essay, the letters of recommendations, the service activity, extracurricular activities and transcripts will be examined. Since the award is much higher, the essays will need to be very strong part of the application.  An essay writing rubric is provided for students and for the review committee as guidelines of the expected writing standards.

The timeline is as follows:

·       Applications are due to the CCNY College Now Offices no later than Friday, April 20, 2018.

·       Winners will be notified by the end of May, 2018.

·       The final ceremony will be held in early June at a CUNY campus the winner is attending, the exact date to be determined.
