The NYC Web Development Fellowship is now accepting applications for its next training, which begins in January and will train participants in the skills necessary to kick off careers in web development.  They are looking for NYC residents ages 18 – 26 who do not have a four-year college degree, and who do not  have professional web development experience.

The program includes a five-month on-campus training, a 12-week paid internship in companies like BuzzFeed and Microsoft, and placement in technology jobs paying $65,000 or more. They have already seen great outcomes from past cohorts’ participants – in fact, 96% of participants from the first cohort are now in jobs with companies like Intel, Etsy, and Venmo at an average annual salary of $70,000.

Applications are due at the end of this month, but they are reviewing candidates on a rolling basis, so the sooner people apply, the better!

If you have any questions about the opportunity, the Web Development staff at the Flatiron School (nycworkforce1@flatironschool.com) would be happy to speak with you.

OVERVIEW

New York City is proud to offer the NYC Web Development Fellowship, a 22-week program designed to train New Yorkers in the skills necessary to kick off careers in web development. The program will prepare graduates with no prior programming experience for jobs as Web Developers, creating web-based software applications that power internet companies like Intel, Etsy, and Kickstarter.
Offered by the Workforce Development Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliated with the NYC Department of Small Business Services, the Fellowship will support the growing number of tech companies in the City, especially in Downtown Brooklyn where the Fellowship’s campus is located. Fellows will receive their training from The Flatiron School free of charge—a program that normally charges tuition of $15,000.
