Still looking for a summer 2015 plan? Volunteer at the New York City Public Library!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
TO HELP WITH OUR INVEST IN LIBRARIES CAMPAIGN
Beginning the week of May 4th and lasting through June, help reverse years of funding cuts to libraries by manning a letter-writing table for 2 hours in a branch of your choice. Just 2 hours of your time spent volunteering for our campaign could help libraries get adequate funding for more staff, longer open hours and more books, DVD’s, computers and programs.
All you need to do is read about our efforts at investinlibraries.org, and then send an email tomauramuller@nypl.org to sign up for a 2 hour shift at any NYPL branch of your choice. This is a great opportunity for families and teens to volunteer too! You’ll be asking library visitors to stop and sign a form letter. It’s easy!
Have longer than 2 hours? Sign up to attend our next Library Rally. We’ll notify you of the date and send you directions.
Don’t have 2 hours? How about 5 minutes to make a phone call to your representative during our city-wide call in week, May 11th through May 15th? Email mauramuller@nypl.org and find out how you can help during this crucial time.
